Drosophila is an excellent model organism towards understanding the cognitive function, aging and neurodegeneration in humans. The effects of aging and other long-term dynamics on the behavior serve as important biomarkers in identifying such changes to the brain. In this regard, we are presenting a new imaging technique for lifetime monitoring of Drosophila in 3D at spatial and temporal resolutions capable of resolving the motion of limbs and wings using holographic principles. The developed system is capable of monitoring and extracting various behavioral parameters, such as ethograms and spatial distributions, from a group of flies simultaneously. This technique can image complicated leg and wing motions of flies at a resolution, which allows capturing specific landing responses from the same data set. Overall, this system provides a unique opportunity for high throughput screenings of behavioral changes in 3D over a long term in Drosophila.

Thermodynamics-gravity conjecture implies that there is a deep connection between the gravitational field equations and the first law of thermodynamics. Therefore, any modification to the entropy expression directly modifies the field equations. By considering the modified Barrow entropy associated with the apparent horizon, the Friedmann equations are modified as well.

The PERCIVAL detector: first user experiments.

J Synchrotron Radiat

January 2023

Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, Notkestrasse 85, 22607 Hamburg, Germany.

The PERCIVAL detector is a CMOS imager designed for the soft X-ray regime at photon sources. Although still in its final development phase, it has recently seen its first user experiments: ptychography at a free-electron laser, holographic imaging at a storage ring and preliminary tests on X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy. The detector performed remarkably well in terms of spatial resolution achievable in the sample plane, owing to its small pixel size, large active area and very large dynamic range; but also in terms of its frame rate, which is significantly faster than traditional CCDs.

Entropy of the Universe and Hierarchical Dark Matter.

Entropy (Basel)

We discuss the relationship between dark matter and the entropy of the universe, with the premise that dark matter exists in the form of primordial black holes (PBHs) in a hierarchy of mass tiers. The lightest tier includes all PBHs with masses below one hundred solar masses. The second-lightest tier comprises intermediate-mass PIMBHs within galaxies, including the Milky Way.

All Tree-Level Correlators for M Theory on AdS_{7}×S^{4}.

Phys Rev Lett

Princeton Center for Theoretical Science, Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey 08544, USA.

We present a constructive derivation of all four-point tree-level holographic correlators for eleven dimensional supergravity on AdS_{7}×S^{4}. These correlators correspond to four-point functions of arbitrary one-half BPS operators in the six-dimensional (2,0) theory at large central charge. The crucial observation is that the polar part of the correlators in Mellin space is fully captured by a drastically simpler maximally R-symmetry violating amplitude, while the contact part is fully fixed by superconformal Ward identities and the flat space limit.

Although electro-holography can reconstruct three-dimensional (3D) motion pictures, its computational cost is too heavy to allow for real-time reconstruction of 3D motion pictures. This study explores accelerating colour hologram generation using light-ray information on a ray-sampling (RS) plane with a graphics processing unit (GPU) to realise a real-time holographic display system. We refer to an image corresponding to light-ray information as an RS image.
