We propose graphene-assisted multiple-input high-base optical computing. We fabricate a nonlinear optical device based on a fiber pigtail cross-section coated with a single-layer graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. An approach to implementing modulo 4 operations of three-input hybrid addition and subtraction of quaternary base numbers in the optical domain using multiple non-degenerate four-wave mixing (FWM) processes in graphene coated optical fiber device and (differential) quadrature phase-shift keying ((D)QPSK) signals is presented. We demonstrate 10-Gbaud modulo 4 operations of three-input quaternary hybrid addition and subtraction (A + B - C, A + C - B, B + C - A) in the experiment. The measured optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) penalties for modulo 4 operations of three-input quaternary hybrid addition and subtraction (A + B - C, A + C - B, B + C - A) are measured to be less than 7 dB at a bit-error rate (BER) of 2 × 10(-3). The BER performance as a function of the relative time offset between three signals (signal offset) is also evaluated showing favorable performance.
Single-cell or single-nucleus transcriptomics is a powerful tool for identifying cell types and cell states. However, hypotheses derived from these assays, including gene expression information, require validation, and their functional relevance needs to be established. The choice of validation depends on numerous factors.

The identification of ASD risk genes from exome-wide association studies and de novo variation analyses has enabled mechanistic investigations into how ASD-risk genes alter development. Most functional genomics studies have focused on the role of these genes in neurons and neural progenitor cells.
We propose a dual-wavelength scheme for a clipping-avoidance photonic analog-to-digital converter (PADC) operating at the sub-Nyquist sampling rate. The scheme utilizes two characteristics, the phase-wrapping feature of a PADC and the wavelength-sensitive feature of a phase modulator, equivalently performing a dual-modulus (DM) modulo operation to avoid clipping. Coupled with an unwrapping algorithm based on the Chinese remainder theorem (CRT), the proposed scheme enables signal reconstruction from the processed signals independent of the sampling rate.

Background: Precancerous lesions, conditions associated with exposure to human papillomavirus (HPV), threaten women's health at different stages of life, from adolescence to old age. It has been observed that a low-cost strategy, such as visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), reveals cervical lesions, while establishing interventions that allow modifying the course of the disease, thus improving women's quality of life.
Objective: To determine the validity of VIA in comparison with cervical cytology for the detection of precancerous lesions.

Organic diradicals are highly promising candidates as future components in molecular electronic and spintronic devices because of their low spin-orbit coupling. To advance toward final circuit realizations, a thorough knowledge of the behavior of diradicals within a single-molecule junction framework is imperative. In this work, we have measured for the first time the single-molecule conductance of a neutral open-shell diradical compound, a [2,1-] isomer of indenofluorene (IF).
