Published: November 2016

A newly prepared 3-D polymer of cobalt citrate cubanes bridged by high-spin Co(ii) centres displays both single-molecule magnet (SMM) behaviour and magnetic ordering. Triple interpenetration of the 3-D diamondoid polymers yields a crystalline solid with channels that host cations and free water molecules, with the SMM behaviour of the CoO cores preserved. The octahedrally coordinated Co(ii) bridges are implicated in the onset of magnetic order at an experimentally accessible temperature.

Background: Many adults with heart failure (HF) are physically frail and have worse outcomes. While the biological profile of physical frailty in HF has been examined, the behavioral profile remains unstudied. Physical frailty may impact self-care behaviors, particularly symptom monitoring and management (SMM), which in turn results in adverse outcomes.

Background: Effective and feasible large-scale interventions are urgently needed to reverse the current rise in childhood obesity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a multicomponent intervention program, MyBFF@school, on anthropometric indices and body composition metrics among overweight and obese adolescent schoolchildren in Malaysia.

Methods: This is a cluster randomized controlled trial which involved schoolchildren aged 13, 14 and 16 years old from 15 out of 415 government secondary schools in central Peninsular Malaysia which were randomly assigned into six intervention (N = 579 schoolchildren) and nine control (N = 462 schoolchildren).

Searching for single-molecule magnets (SMM) with large effective blocking barriers, long relaxation times, and high magnetic blocking temperatures is vitally important not only for the fundamental research of magnetism at the molecular level but also for the realization of new-generation magnetic memory unit. Actinides (An) atoms possess extremely strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) due to their 5 orbitals, and their ground multiplets are largely split into several sublevels because of the strong interplay between the SOC of An atoms and the crystal field (CF) formed by ligand atoms. Compared to TM-based SMMs, more dispersed energy level widths of An-based SMMs will give a larger total zero field splitting (ZFS) and thus provide a necessary condition to derive a higher .

Sexualized drug use factors among rural sexual minority men.

J Rural Health

January 2025

Department of Health Behavior, School of Public Health, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA.

Purpose: Although rural sexual minority men (SMM) use substances immediately before/during sex (i.e., sexualized drug use), the factors contributing to this behavior are unknown.

The dinuclear β-diketiminato complex [LClDy(μ-Cl)DyL(THF)] () (L = {2,6-PrCH-NC(Me)CHC(Me)N-2,6-PrCH}) was obtained by reaction of DyCl with KL in a molar ratio of 1:1 and used for the preparation of the mixed-ligand complex [LDy(μ-3,5-Cat)] () by salt metathesis reaction with 3,5-CatK (3,5-Cat -3,5-di--butyl-catecholate). Reactions of 3,5-CatNa with [LLnCl(THF)] (Ln = Dy, Y) ligated with the less bulky ligand L = {2,4,6-MeCH-NC(Me)CHC(Me)N-2,4,6-MeCH} afforded the mixed-ligand THF-containing complexes [LLn(μ-3,5-Cat)(THF)] (Ln = Dy (), Y ()). All new complexes were fully characterized, and the solid-state structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
