Hyperplastic dental follicles (HDFs) represent odontogenic hamartomatous lesions originating from the pericoronal tissues and are often associated with impacted or embedded teeth. These lesions may occasionally feature unique calcifying bodies, known as calcifying whorled nodules (CWNs), characterized by stromal cells arranged in a whorled or spiral fashion. CWNs are typically observed in multiple calcifying hyperplastic dental follicles or regional odontodysplasia.

Objective: To analyze the three-dimensional radiographic characteristics of calcifying odontogenic cyst and calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor using spiral computed tomography (CT) and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Methods: Clinical records, histopathological reports, and CBCT or non-enhanced spiral CT images of 19 consecutive patients with calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC) and 16 consecutive patients with calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) were retrospectively acquired, and radiographic features, including location, size, expansion, internal structure and calcification, were analyzed.

Background: Third molar teeth (wisdom teeth) are a common cause of pain and infection in young adults. The study aimed to describe the prevalence of symptomatic third molar teeth and identify factors which predispose to third molar symptoms in a birth cohort.
Methods: An observational study was undertaken nested in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC), a birth cohort based in south west England.

Objective: This cross-sectional study evaluated the number and characteristics of third molars extracted in a single visit in primary care and their associations with patient's age and sex and operator's experience.
