In this paper, the computation schemes for periodic solutions of the forced fractional-order Mathieu-Duffing equation are derived based on incremental harmonic balance (IHB) method. The general forms of periodic solutions are founded by the IHB method, which could be useful to obtain the periodic solutions with higher precision. The comparisons of the approximate analytical solutions by the IHB method and numerical integration are fulfilled, and the results certify the correctness and higher precision of the solutions by the IHB method. The dynamical analysis of strongly nonlinear fractional-order Mathieu-Duffing equation is investigated by the IHB method. Then, the effects of the excitation frequency, fractional order, fractional coefficient, and nonlinear stiffness coefficient on the complex dynamical behaviors are analyzed. At last, the detailed results are summarized and the conclusions are made, which present some useful information to analyze and/or control the dynamical response of this kind of system.

Microplastics (MPs; <5 mm) will inevitably encounter aging processes after being released into the environment. However, the effect of aging on MPs toxicity in aquatic environment is still unclear despite that aging plays a critical role in changing MPs characteristics and behavior. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to assess the effects of aging on MPs biotoxicity in aquatic environment.

Nitrous oxide (NO) emission from lake systems could be affected via intrusion of terrestrial organic matter, causing impairment in biogeochemical cycling. The sources and mechanisms by which DOM (Dissolved organic matter) alters emissions of NO are poorly understood. Here, we simulate different terrestrial DOM (anthropogenic sources, natural sources, and surface runoff) to assess the mechanisms affecting NO emissions with variations of DOM.

Social separation, or the absence of social support, can cause physical and psychological health issues. Social separation is crucial for the welfare of the Yangtze finless porpoise (YFP) in captivity because they face many challenges like frequent social separation, noise from visitors, and animal replacement, which can cause psychological and physiological stress. This research is aimed at assessing the potential negative impacts of social separation on the gut microbiome and metabolome of captive YFP, focusing on the potential imbalances caused by mother-calf separation.

The application of quantum-based NMR methods for the structural elucidation of natural and unnatural products has grown significantly. However, accurately calculating the conformational landscape of flexible molecules with intricate intramolecular hydrogen bonding (IHB) networks continues to be a major challenge. In this work, we thoroughly studied the effect of entropic contributions (trough Gibbs free energies calculations) in the DP4+ performance.
