Background: We compared the safety and efficacy of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) and transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in elderly men (aged ≥75 years) with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 151 patients (HoLEP: 72; TURP: 79) was conducted. Preoperative and postoperative parameters, including prostate size, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), catheterization duration, hospital stay, and perioperative complications (incontinence and dysuria), were analyzed.

Misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin E1 analog, is increasingly used for cervical ripening to ease hysteroscopic procedures. Background: Iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) impedes venous blood return from the lower extremities due to iliac vein compression, manifesting as leg swelling, varicose veins, and thrombosis. These symptoms significantly degrade quality of life. Although iliac vein stenting provides symptomatic relief, the recovery process is protracted and fraught with challenges such as in-stent restenosis and psychological distress.

This approach could be particularly advantageous for patients with Noonan syndrome, who often present with structural thoracic anomalies and other comorbidities like bleeding disorders. Endoscopic mitral valve surgery is rapidly establishing itself as the new standard of care for mitral valve operations, demonstrating both safety and efficacy.
