Study on the infection characteristics and pathogenesis of duck circovirus 1 in Cherry Valley meat ducks.

Poult Sci

January 2025

Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Shandong Agricultural University, Taian, 271017, China; Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Zoonoses, Shandong, Taian, 271017, China. Electronic address:

Duck circovirus (DuCV) infected multiple breeds of ducks and was widespread in duck factories worldwide. Infected ducks exhibited feathering disorder, growth retardation and immunosuppression, which lead to secondary infection with other pathogens easily. But till now, there has been little research on the study of DuCV due to the absence of appropriate cultural measures.

Background: Most young adults with perinatal HIV (PHIV) transition from pediatric or adolescent to adult clinical care. Although guidelines to increase transition success have been recommended, we know little about uptake of these guidelines, particularly by adult care clinics.

Methods: We administered web-based surveys to adult care providers of young adults with PHIV in Massachusetts to evaluate transition preparation and post-transition evaluation practices.

Introduction: Hypoxia responses are critical for myriad physiological and pathological processes, such as development, tissue repair, would healing, and tumorigenesis. microRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of small non-coding RNAs that exert their functions by inhibiting the expression of their target genes, and miR-210 is the miRNA universally and most conspicuously upregulated by hypoxia in mammalian systems. For its relationship to hypoxia, miR-210 has been studied extensively, yet no consensus exists on the roles and mechanisms of miR-210 in human physiological processes or diseases, and we know little about genuine miR-210 target genes in humans.

sST2 levels and 3D speckle tracking as predictors of CAD severity in chronic coronary syndrome.

Egypt Heart J

December 2024

Cardiology Division of Internal Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine, South Valley University, Qena, 83523, Egypt.

Background: Previous studies on the relation of sST2 with atherosclerotic disease mostly focused on the predictive value of sST2 for heart failure. However, there is no definite conclusion about the correlation between sST2 level and a complex coronary lesion morphology detected with coronary angiography (CAG). The purpose of this work was to know sST2 level and 3D speckle-tracking echocardiography as predictor of coronary artery disease (CAD) severity in chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) individuals using Gensini score.

Background: Lesotho has made substantial efforts to control its HIV epidemic. We aimed to assess progress towards UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets in Lesotho by comparing data from the Lesotho Population-based HIV Impact Assessments conducted in 2016-17 (LePHIA 2016) and 2019-20 (LePHIA 2020).

Methods: The LePHIA surveys used a cross-sectional, two-stage, stratified cluster sampling design to obtain a nationally representative sample of adults aged 15-59 years (LePHIA 2016) or aged 15 years and older (LePHIA 2020) from all ten districts of Lesotho.
