A concentration-gradient Ni-rich LiNi0.76Co0.1Mn0.14O2 layered oxide cathode has been developed by firing a core/double-shell [Ni0.9Co0.1]0.4[Ni0.7Co0.1Mn0.2]0.5[Ni0.5Co0.1Mn0.4]0.1(OH)2 hydroxide precursor with LiOH·H2O, where the Ni-rich interior (core) delivers high capacity and the Mn-rich exterior (shells) provides a protection layer to improve the cyclability and thermal stability for the Ni-rich oxide cathodes. The content of nickel and manganese, respectively, decreases and increases gradually from the center to the surface of each gradient sample particle, offering a high capacity with enhanced surface/structural stability and cyclability. The obtained concentration-gradient oxide cathode exhibits high-energy density with long cycle life in both half and full cells. With high-loading electrode half cells, the concentration-gradient sample delivers 3.3 mA h cm(-2) with 99% retention after 100 cycles. The material morphology, phase, and gradient structure are also maintained after cycling. The pouch-type full cells fabricated with a graphite anode delivers high capacity with 89% capacity retention after 500 cycles at C/3 rate.

Bioinformatics Analysis Reveals Microrchidia Family Genes as the Prognostic and Therapeutic Markers for Colorectal Cancer.

Endocr Metab Immune Disord Drug Targets

January 2025

Department of Laboratory Medicine, Taizhou First People's Hospital, Huangyan Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Taizhou, Zhejiang, China.

Aim: The aim of this study is to examine the role of the microrchidia (MORC) family, a group of chromatin remodeling proteins, as the therapeutic and prognostic markers for colorectal cancer (CRC).

Background: MORC protein family genes are a highly conserved nucleoprotein superfamily whose members share a common domain but have distinct biological functions. Previous studies have analyzed the roles of MORCs as epigenetic regulators and chromatin remodulators; however, the involvement of MORCs in the development and pathogenesis of CRC was less examined.

Author analyses the process of care of somatic symptom disorder in the general medical practice with special concern to iatrogenic harms. In his opinion the latency of the patients' first appointment with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist is caused by multiple factors. Patients do not have knowledge on the basic activities of central nervous system necessary to recognize the pathomechanism.

The simulation of antral conditions for estimating drug apparent equilibrium solubility after a high-calorie, high-fat meal is challenging. In this study, (1) we measured the apparent equilibrium solubility of two model lipophilic drugs, ketoconazole and danazol, in antral aspirates collected at various time points after a minced high-calorie, high-fat meal and a glass of water 30 min after initiation of meal administration, and we designated one point estimate for ketoconazole and one point estimate for danazol; (2) we evaluated the usefulness of FeSSGF-V2 and FEDGAS pH = 3 in reproducing the two point estimates; (3) we evaluated potential compositions of FeSSGF-V3 that simulate the pH, the buffer capacity toward both less acidic and more acidic values, and the antral lipid and protein contents with easily accessible, commercially available products, and (4) we identified the most useful composition of FeSSGF-V3 for reproducing the two point estimates. For both model drugs, apparent solubility in FeSSGF-V2 and in FEDGAS pH 3 deviated substantially from the corresponding point estimate.

Tailored Polymer-Inorganic Bilayer SEI with Proton Holder Feature for Aqueous Zn Metal Batteries.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

January 2025

Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College Park, Building C, 404, Shenzhen, CHINA.

Conventional SEI in aqueous Zn-ion batteries mainly acts as a physical barrier to prevent HER, which is prone to structural deterioration stemming from uneven Zn deposition at high current densities. Herein, we propose an in-situ structural design of polymer-inorganic bilayer SEI with a proton holder feature by aniline-modulated electrolytes. The inner ZnF2 with high stiffness and strength effectively suppresses Zn dendrites.

Beyond Inducing Anionic Redox: Controllable Migration Sequence of Li Ions in Transition Metal Layers Toward Highly Stable Li-Rich Cathodes.

The energy density of layered oxides of Li-ion batteries can be enhanced by inducing oxygen redox through replacing transition metal (TM) ions with Li ions in the TM layer. Undesirably, the cathodes always suffer from unfavorable structural degradation, which is closely associated with irreversible TM migration and slab gliding, resulting in continuous capacity and voltage decay. Herein, attention is paid to the Li ions in the TM layer (Li) and find their extra effects beyond inducing oxygen redox, which has been rarely mentioned.
