Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the cyclic fatigue resistances of nickel-titanium rotary glide path files, which are manufactured as single-file systems, under dynamic model.
Methods: Twenty ProGlider (16.02) and 20 One G (14.03) nickel-titanium glide path files were included in this study. Cyclic fatigue tests were performed with specifically manufactured dynamic cyclic testing device. The device has an artificially prepared canal with 60° curvature angle and 5-mm curvature radius. The canal inner diameter is 1.5 mm, and its curvature center is located at the coronal 5 mm from the apical. The files were randomly divided into 2 groups (n = 20): group 1, ProGlider; group 2, One G. Time to fracture was recorded, and the number of cycles to failure for each instrument was obtained. Statistical analyses were performed by using independent samples t test. The statistically significant level was set at P < .05.
Results: The cyclic fatigue resistance of ProGlider files was found to be statistically significantly higher than that of the One G files (P < .05).
Conclusions: Within the limitations of the present study, it was concluded that the cyclic fatigue resistance of ProGlider, which is manufactured as single-file glide path system, is higher than that of the One G file.

α-Cyclodextrin (αCD), a cyclic hexasaccharide composed of six glucose units, is not digested in the small intestine but is completely fermented by gut microbes. Recently, we have reported that αCD supplementation for nonathlete men improved their 10 km biking times. However, the beneficial effects of αCD on exercise are not yet fully understood.

Objective: The objective of this work was to conduct a systematic study to evaluate the performance of citric acid (CA), an example of a commonly used organic acid in hair cosmetics, on different types of chemically treated hair and to better understand how CA works.
Methods: Consumer-centric routines were used to prepare the chemically treated hair, namely high-lift bleached, middle-lift bleached, permanently coloured and a combination of permed and coloured hair. Hair was subsequently treated with CA and hair reinforcement was investigated by physical techniques: High Pressure Differential Scanning Calorimetry (HPDSC), Miniature Tensile Test (MTT), Cyclic Fatigue Tensile Test (CFTT) & Micro X-ray Diffraction (μXRD) as well as chemical analysis (elemental, amino acids).

In cases of large mandibular continuity defects resulting from malignancy resection, the current standard of care involves using patient-specific/custom titanium reconstruction plates along with autogenous grafts (fibula, scapula, or iliac crest segments). However, when grafts are not feasible or desired, only the reconstruction plate is used to bridge the gap. Unfortunately, metal osteosynthesis and reconstruction plates, including titanium, exhibit adverse effects such as stress-shielding and limitations in accurate postoperative irradiation (especially with proton-beam therapy).

Hydrogels are promising materials for wearable electronics, artificial skins and biomedical engineering, but their limited stretchability, self-recovery and crack resistance restrict their performance in demanding applications. Despite efforts to enhance these properties using micelle cross-links, nanofillers and dynamic interactions, it remains a challenge to fabricate hydrogels that combine high stretchability, self-healing and strong adhesion. Herein, we report a novel hydrogel synthesized the copolymerization of acrylamide (AM), maleic acid (MA) and acrylonitrile (AN), designed to address these limitations.

Statement Of Problem: The angled screw channel (ASC) design has been well accepted for implant prostheses. However, investigation into the behavior of the ASC connection is sparse.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to assess the effect of cyclic loading on the internal connection of an ASC system compared with straight access systems by measuring reverse torque values (RTVs) and using microcomputed tomography (µCT) imaging.
