The EDB programme, Danop, which was developed in cooperation with Statens Seruminstitut which is the central department for hospital hygeine in Denmark, was employed during the period 1.7.1987-30.6.1988 for consecutive registration of operative interventions and postoperative wound infection. During the period, 1,660 interventions were registered with a total frequency of infection of 3.5%; 2.6% of these in clean cases and 13.8% in infected cases. About one third of the infections were demonstrated by the general practitioners after discharge. In connection with introduction of registration, a considerable decrease in the number of postoperative wound infections occurred. It is decisive for the employability of the system that a reliable procedure for registration and return information is organized. The system is easy to use and functions well and does not require prior knowledge of edb and it provides excellent current control of and review of postoperative wound infections in one or more departments.

Purpose: To evaluate the radiological and clinical outcomes in two patient groups: first, varus aligned medial meniscus posterior root tear (MMPRT) patients who underwent posteromedial open wedge high tibial osteotomy (PMOWHTO) and simultaneous root repair; second, patients with varus medial knee osteoarthritis without MMPRT who underwent PMOWHTO.
Methods: Patients had MMPRT repair concomitant with PMOWHTO and varus medial knee osteoarthritis without concomitant root tear patients who underwent PMOWHTO and were reviewed. Radiographic parameters, medial meniscus extrusion (MME) and Knee Society Scores [KSSs, including the following subscores: knee score (KS) and knee function score (KFS)] were evaluated.

Purpose: Pituitary adenomas, despite their histologically benign nature, can severely impact patients' quality of life due to hormone hypersecretion. Invasion of the medial wall of the cavernous sinus (MWCS) by these tumors complicates surgical outcomes, lowering biochemical remission rates and increasing recurrence. This study aims to share our institutional experience with the selective resection of the MWCS in endoscopic pituitary surgery.

Introduction: As the number of revision total knee arthroplasties (rTKA) continues to rise, there is increasing interest in the use of contemporary rotating hinge prostheses. These devices often incorporate porous cones to fill bone defects and enhance long-term fixation. This study evaluated the clinical and functional outcomes and survivorship in rTKA patients utilizing a rotating hinge prosthesis with flexible titanium (FT) cones, porous tantalum (PT) cones, or no cones.
