Background: Osteoclast-like giant cells (OLGCs) are a rare histologic finding within a tumor of the breast. Although there has been discussion as to the pathogenesis and prognosis related to this finding, our understanding of its significance remains inconclusive. Clear cells are another unique histologic finding in breast tumors and are typically associated with tumors arising in other organs such as renal cell carcinoma.
Case Presentation: This is a case report of a 64-year-old female who presented with one tumor identified as invasive ductal carcinoma with a combination of OLGCs and clear cell features.
Conclusions: To our knowledge, this combination of findings has not been previously described in the literature and therefore represents another morphologic manifestation of breast carcinoma. As patients are diagnosed earlier and live longer, a growing number of these rare variants may be recognized and provide opportunities to further our understanding of the associated molecular pathways which could contribute to the possibility of therapeutic intervention.

Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anatomical anomaly, in which the pancreatic parenchyma surrounds the descending duodenum. Generally, annular pancreas is diagnosed on the basis of symptoms associated with complications of peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, cholelithiasis, and rarely, malignant tumors. Herein, we report an 84-year-old man for whom, during hospitalization for a urinary tract infection, pancreatic cystic lesions and an annular pancreas were noted incidentally on computed tomography.

Purpose: Randomized trials have demonstrated similar local tumor control in patients treated with accelerated partial-breast irradiation (APBI) compared with whole-breast irradiation. However, the optimal APBI dose for maximizing tumor control and minimizing toxicity is uncertain.
Methods And Materials: We enrolled patients ≥18 years of age with grade 1 or 2 ductal carcinoma in situ or stage I invasive breast cancer and resection margins ≥2 mm between 2003 and 2011 to a sequential dose-escalation trial using 3-dimensional conformal external beam APBI giving twice daily 4 Gy fractions with total doses of 32 Gy, 36 Gy, and 40 Gy.
