Introduction: The risk of kidney fibrosis is significantly elevated in individuals with diabetes, chronic nephritis, trauma, and other underlying conditions. Concurrently, human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUCB-MSCs) and their extracellular vesicles (MSC-Exos) have gained prominence in regenerative medicine. In light of these observations, we are undertaking a meta-analysis to elucidate the influence of hUCB-MSCs and MSC-Exos on kidney fibrosis.

Background: With early detection and improvements in systemic and local therapies, millions of people are surviving cancer, but for some at a high cost. In some cancer types, cardiovascular disease now competes with recurrent cancer as the cause of death. Traditional care models, in which the cardiologist or oncologist assess patients individually, do not address complex cancer and cardiovascular needs.

Avermectins (AVMs) and their derivatives are the most effective and widely used nematicides, insecticides, and acaricides against endo- and ectoparasites of plants, animals, and humans. Demand for avermectins and their highly effective derivatives has increased due to their high cost-effectiveness and wide range of applications as medicines and crop protection products. Due to the unique structures of these compounds and for industrial production purposes, numerous efforts and strategies have been dedicated to enhancing the production of avermectins and creating new analogues in recent years.

: African countries experience high rates of infectious diseases that are mostly preventable by vaccination. Despite the risks of infections and other adverse outcomes, vaccination coverage in the African region remains significantly low. Poor vaccination knowledge is a contributory factor, and effective communication is crucial to bridging the vaccination uptake gap.

Inflammation is an important driver of disease in the context of atherosclerosis, and several landmark trials have shown that targeting inflammatory pathways can reduce cardiovascular event rates. However, the high cost and potentially serious adverse effects of anti-inflammatory therapies necessitate more precise patient selection. Traditional biomarkers of inflammation, such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), show an association with cardiovascular risk on a population level, but do not have specificity for local plaque inflammation.
