Approximately 10 % of patients who have suffered from myocardial infarction develop new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF). Coronary artery disease implicating atrial branches has been associated with AF. The following variables have been associated with new-onset AF in the setting of acute coronary syndrome: older age, history of hypertension, history of angina, history of stroke, chronic renal failure, body mass index, no statin use, worse nutritional status, worse Killip class, admission heart rate ≥ 85 bpm, complete atrioventricular block, Glasgow prognostic score, Syntax score, CHEST score > 3, PRECISE-DAPT score ≥ 25, left ventricular ejection fraction ≤40 %, increased left atrial diameter, E/E' ratio > 12, epicardial fat tissue thickness, and thrombolysis in myocardial infarction flow <3.

In this review article, we provide an overview of the definition and application of fractional flow reserve (FFR), instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR), coronary flow reserve (CFR), and index of microvascular resistance (IMR) in the diagnosis, prognosis, and management of coronary microvascular dysfunction. We discuss their respective limitations as it relates to microvascular dysfunction. In each section, we review the most recent evidence supporting their use in microvascular and epicardial coronary artery disease.

Introduction: Elevated central aortic pressure, cardiac output and peripheral vascular resistance contribute to high morbidity in relation to end organ dysfunction in obstructive and non-obstructive coronary artery disease (NOCAD) cases despite revascularization. Bisoprolol preempts further progression of left ventricular dysfunction in such cases due to anti-ischemic and anti-hypertensive effects, further extending its evaluation in local Indian settings.
Methods: Post-hoc analyses of NOCAD patients with epicardial stenosis (N=378, 30 to 70% stenosis) from cross-sectional analyses conducted across eighty centers in India.

The pathophysiology of myocardial injury following COVID-19 remains uncertain. COVID-HEART was a prospective, multicentre study utilising cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) to characterise COVID-related myocardial injury. In this pre-specified analysis, the objectives were to examine (1) the frequency of myocardial ischaemia following COVID-19, and (2) the association between ischaemia and myocardial injury.
