The data, concerning videothoracoscopic operations application in the acute pleural empyema treatment in 462 patients, were adduced. Efficacy of videothoracoscopic operations, using electrowelding and radiofrequency surgical complexes with possibility to eliminate pulmonary-pleural fistulas, was shown. Positive clinical effect was noted in 443 (95.9%) patients, duration of stationary treatment have constituted 11.1 days at average. The complications have had occurred in 19 (4.1%) patients. Background: Thymic neuroendocrine tumor as a cause of Cushing syndrome is extremely rare in children.
Case Presentation: We report a case of a 10-year-old girl who presented with typical symptoms and signs of hypercortisolemia, including bone fractures, growth retardation, and kidney stones. The patient was managed with oral ketoconazole, during which she experienced adrenal insufficiency, possibly due to either cyclic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secretion or concurrent COVID-19 infection.

Objectives: Minimally invasive anatomic segmentectomy for the resection of pulmonary nodules has significantly increased in the last few years. Nevertheless, there is limited evidence on the safety and feasibility of robotic segmentectomy compared to video-assisted thoracic surgery. This study aimed to compare the real-world early outcomes of robotic and video-thoracoscopic surgery in anatomic segmentectomy.

A non-functional middle mediastinal paraganglioma is a rare entity. We describe a case of a 67-year-old woman with a diagnosis of a big mediastinal paraganglioma by endobronchial ultrasound transbronchial needle aspiration after chest CT and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography. The nine centimeter in length tumor was located between the superior vena cava and the posterior portion of the ascending aorta, compressing the left atrium and the trachea and main left bronchus, posteriorly, surrounding the right pulmonary artery.
