A fluorescent sensor based on a tripeptide (SerGluGlu) with a dansyl fluorophore detected selectively Al(III) among 16 metal ions in aqueous buffered solutions without any organic cosolvent. The peptide-based sensor showed a highly sensitive turn on response to aluminium ion with high binding affinity (1.84×10(4)M(-1)) in aqueous buffered solutions. The detection limit (230nM, 5.98ppb) of the peptide-based sensor was much lower than the maximum allowable level (7.41μM) of aluminium ions in drinking water demanded by EPA. The binding mode of the peptide sensor with aluminium ions was characterized using ESI mass spectrometry, NMR titration, and pH titration experiments.

Background: Capillary electrophoresis (CE) is a highly versatile separation technique widely used in analytical chemistry. Traditionally, CE can be categorized as either aqueous or non-aqueous systems based on the buffer solvents employed. For decades, non-aqueous CE has been predominantly associated with the use of organic solvents, a perception deeply ingrained in the scientific community.

Objective: Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) are widely used as gene therapy vectors due to their safety, stability, and long-term expression characteristics. The objective of this work is to develop an aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) as a universal platform for the separation and purification of AAVs.
Results: This study utilized polyethylene glycol (PEG)/salt ATPSs to separate and purify various AAV serotypes, including AAV5, AAV8, and AAV9, which focusing on serotype-specific performance and partial empty capsid removal.

Background/objectives: A sustained-release formulation of fenofibrate while enhancing drug dissolution with minimal food effect is critical for maximizing the therapeutic benefits of fenofibrate. Therefore, this study aimed to develop an effective solid dispersion formulation of fenofibrate for simultaneous enhancement in the extent and duration of drug exposure.
Methods: Fenofibrate-loaded solid dispersions (FNSDs) were prepared using poloxamer 407 and Eudragit RSPO at varied ratios via solvent evaporation.

The effect of 2-hydroxpropyl-β-cyclodextrin (2HPβCD) with or without divalent metal ions (Ca, Mg, and Zn) on the stability of dalbavancin in acetate buffer was investigated. Dalbavancin recovery from formulations with 2HPβCD and divalent metal ions after four weeks of storage at 5 °C and 55 °C was measured by RP-HPLC and HP-SEC; a longer-term study was carried out over six months at 5 °C, 25 °C, and 40 °C. Binding of 2HPβCD was characterized by isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
