Bismuth selenide (Bi2Se3) nanostructures were synthesized via solvothermal method. The crystallinity of the as-synthesized sample has been analyzed by X-ray diffraction, which shows the formation of rhombohedral Bi2Se3. Electron microscopy examination indicates that the Bi2Se3 nanoparticles have hexagonal flake-like shape. The effect of the synthesis temperature on the morphology of the Bi2Se3 nanostructures has also been investigated. It is found that the particle size increases with the synthesis temperature. Thermoelectric properties of the Bi2Se3 nanostructures were also measured, and the maximum value of dimensionless figure of merit (ZT) of 0.096 was obtained at 523 K.

As an emerging two-dimensional (2D) Group-VA material, bismuth selenide (BiSe) exhibits favorable electrical and optical properties. Here, three distinct morphologies of BiSe were obtained from bulk BiSe through electrochemical intercalation exfoliation. And the morphologies of these nanostructures can be tuned by adjusting solvent polarity during exfoliation.

The cRGD peptide surface coating strategy for photothermal therapy nanoplatforms shows great promise in developing safe and effective cancer therapies. However, the precise intracellular mechanisms of these platforms remain unclear due to the complexity of intracellular trafficking and nano-bio interactions. This study investigates the nano-bio interactions of BiSe nanofoams, a representative photothermal therapy nanoplatform, coated with cRGD peptide in cancer cells, focusing on endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular trafficking.

The growing interest in fructo-oligosaccharides (FOSs) necessitates the effective monitoring of product quality. Identifying and quantifying FOS isomers from the same sources are challenging. Here, we report a new method using BiSe nanosheets as the matrix for matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS), achieving effective differentiation of oligosaccharide isomers through MALDI-MS/MS.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) has gained widespread attention due to its significant advantages, such as noninvasiveness and ability to perform laser localization. However, PTT usually reaches temperatures exceeding 50 °C, which causes tumor coagulation necrosis and unfavorable inflammatory reactions, ultimately decreasing its efficacy. In this study, multifunctional two-dimensional BiSe nanodisks were synthesized as noninflammatory photothermal agents for glioma therapy.
