Objectives: This study aims to compare the effects of high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) and quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises using biofeedback on pain and function in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA).

Methods: This randomized, two-group clinical trial included patients with KOA (grades II - III of the Lawrence Kellgren classification) who met the inclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from participants before they were randomly allocated into one of two groups: HILT + therapeutic exercise (group A) or quadriceps muscle strengthening exercises using biofeedback + therapeutic exercise (group B).

Capsaicin, known for its antioxidant and antibacterial properties, may mitigate oxidative stress and inflammation associated with exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD). This study evaluates the efficacy of capsaicin supplementation in reducing delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and enhancing strength and power in collegiate male futsal players. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover design was used.

Objectives: Uterine fibroids often lead to symptoms that negatively impact health-related quality of life (HRQOL). High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has emerged as a promising noninvasive treatment for reducing fibroid size and symptoms. The Mirabilis system for ultrasound (US)-guided HIFU introduces a novel technique known as 'shell ablation'.

Ultrasound-Guided Botulinum Toxin Infiltrations in Essential Tremor Patients: A 36-week Follow Up.

Tremor Other Hyperkinet Mov (N Y)

March 2025

Department of Neurology, Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) presents therapeutic challenges as oral therapies, are often partially effective and carry adverse effects. Deep Brain Stimulation and High-intensity Focused Ultrasound targeting the ventral intermediate thalamic nucleus show efficacy in managing ET; however, their cost and invasiveness deter some patients. Botulinum toxin infiltrations for ET in the upper limbs have been limited by adverse effects.

Introduction: Preoperative rehabilitation lowers the surgical morbidity-mortality risk of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study evaluated the feasibility of a preoperative-rehabilitation program consisting of high-intensity exercises, at home, teleguided by physical trained sports coach.

Methods: This monocenter study included patients diagnosed with resectable NSCLC, scheduled segmentectomy or lobectomy, and FEV1 < 80 % and/or DLCO < 80 %.
