Purpose: To investigate the stability of corneal astigmatism and higher-order aberrations after combined femtosecond-assisted phacoemulsification and arcuate keratotomy.
Design: Retrospective, interventional case series.
Methods: Surgery was performed using a VICTUS (Bausch & Lomb Inc, Dornach, Germany) platform. A single, 450-μm deep, arcuate keratotomy was paired at the 8-mm zone with the main phacoemulsification incision in the opposite meridian. The keratotomy incisions were not opened. Corneal astigmatism and higher-order aberration measurements obtained preoperatively and at 2 months and 2 years postoperatively were analyzed.
Results: Fifty eyes of 50 patients (mean age 66.2 ± 10.5 years) were included. The mean preoperative corneal astigmatism was 1.35 ± 0.48 diopters (D). This was reduced to 0.67 ± 0.54 D at 2 months and 0.74 ± 0.53 D at 2 years postoperatively (P < .001). There was no statistically significant difference between postoperative corneal astigmatism over 2 years (P = .392). Both magnitude of error and absolute angle of error were comparable between the 2 postoperative time points (P > .283). At postoperative 2 months and 2 years, 72% and 70% of eyes were within 15 degrees of preoperative meridian of astigmatism, respectively. All wavefront measurements increased significantly at 2 months and 2 years (P < .007), except spherical aberration (P > .150). There was no significant difference in higher-order aberrations between 2 months and 2 years postoperatively (P > .486).
Conclusions: Our study showed the stability of femtosecond-assisted arcuate keratotomy. Further studies using other platforms and nomograms are needed to corroborate the findings of this study.

Purpose: To compare the clinical outcomes of Xen 45 gel stent implantation surgery (Ab externo, open conjunctiva) with those of trabeculectomy.
Method: We retrospectively reviewed electronic medical record of 57patients (62eyes) treated with Xen implantation surgery (ab externo, open conjunctiva approach) between April 1st, 2021 and July 31st, 2023 by the same surgeon. Preoperative clinical data including intraocular pressure, the number of glaucoma medications, visual acuity were collected from 1 day to 12 months postoperatively.
Introduction: The aim of our study was to assess the outcome of Gore-Tex sutures in minimally invasive scleral fixation of subluxated posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PCIOLs) and to demonstrate a method for validating the lens position.
Methods: Retrospective study of patients who underwent lasso in-the-bag scleral fixation of a subluxated PCIOL using the snare technique with Gore-Tex suture from 2019 to 2021 in a single tertiary medical center. Functional outcome was analyzed by clinical assessment, and anatomical outcome, by ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM).

Purpose: The purpose of this work was to determine the comfort performance of a toric, monthly, silicon hydrogel CL (lehfilcon A; TOTAL30 for Astigmatism) over a long day of wear.
Methods: This was a 1-month, 3-visit, prospective, single-arm study. Adult, 18- to 45-year-old CL wearers with good vision who were minimally symptomatic (CLDEQ-8 scores ≤12) were enrolled.

Background And Aims: Refractive errors and intermittent exotropia are prevalent conditions in pediatric populations, impacting visual development and quality of life. Despite the co-occurrence of conditions such as myopia, hypermetropia, and astigmatism with strabismus, comprehensive analyses of their coexistence are limited. This study aims to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of refractive error among children with intermittent exotropia and find the correlation between the angle of deviation for far and near with factors like mean spherical equivalent and age.

To study the correlation between myopia growth and physical development of primary school student in Shihezi area of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region by measuring the ocular biometry and physical parameters of the eye, and to provide an objective basis for the development of myopia prevention and control. A cross-sectional study design was used. The Grade 1-6 students from 33 schools in Shihezi area were randomly selected in October 2023.
