Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder affecting approximately 0.32% of the global population. Despite advancements in pharmacological treatments, many patients with schizophrenia continue to experience significant impairments, and approximately one-third of these patients do not respond to antipsychotic drugs.

Purpose: Patients with schizophrenia have a higher risk of cannabis use disorder and may be uniquely affected by the legalization of recreational cannabis. This study examined whether cannabis legalization led to changes in acute care utilization among patients with schizophrenia.
Method: Using linked health administrative data, we included adult patients with schizophrenia in Ontario from October 2015 to May 2021 (n = 121,061).

Individual sociability and alcohol drinking are interacted to escalate alcohol use. An impairment in perceiving and discriminating the difference in incentive values between social interaction and drinking behavior indicates a shift from moderate alcohol consumption to misuse. However, few studies have evaluated the incentive value of these two behaviors in the same scenario.
