Al-TiO2 nanofibers were prepared using a sol-gel derived electrospinning by varying the Al/Ti molar ratio from 0 to 0.73 to investigate the effect of Al doping on the crystal structure and the photocatalytic activity of Al-TiO2 for methylene blue (MB) degradation. XRD results indicated that as the Al/Ti molar ratio rose, crystal structure of Al-TiO2 was changed from anatase/rutile (undoped), anatase (0.07-0.18), to amorphous phase (0.38-0.73), which was confirmed by XPS and Raman analysis. The degradation kinetic constant increased from 7.3 x 10(-4) min(-1) to 4.5 x 10(-3) min(-1) with the increase of Al/Ti molar ratios from 0 to 0.38, but decreased to 3.4 x 10(-3) min(-1) when the Al/Ti molar ratio reached 0.73. The Al-TiO2 catalyst doped with 0.38 Al/Ti molar ratio demonstrated the best MB degradation. Experimental results indicated that the Al doping in Al-TiO2 was mainly attributed to the crystal structure of TiO2 and the photocatalytic degradation of MB.

Porous organic polymers (POPs) are attracting attention for their easy functionalization and potential as catalyst supports in olefin polymerization. In this study, sulfonated POP (s-POP) supported Ziegler-Natta catalysts were used for ethylene polymerization, producing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, with reaching up to 6.83 × 10 g mol.

In view of the insufficient coagulation efficiency of traditional inorganic coagulants, a series of Al-Ti gels with different Ti/triethanolamine (TEA), Ti/HO, and Ti/Al molar ratios were prepared by sol-gel process in this study. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of the Al-Ti gels preliminarily confirmed the interaction between Al and Ti by detecting the appearance of the Al-O-Ti bond. The peak shift of the chemical bonds in X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) and the transformation of the hydrolysate species in the Al-Ti gels were analyzed to further explore the interaction mechanism between Al and Ti.

Two salalen titanium(iv) complexes ((H-salalen)TiCl and (F-salalen)TiCl) containing hydrogen and fluorine respectively on the phenolate ring close to the imine were synthesized for the copolymerization of ethylene with 1-octene to prepare poly(ethylene--1-octene) in the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO). The (F-salalen)TiCl/MAO showed higher catalytic activity and better copolymer characteristics such as a higher molecular weight, narrower molecular weight distribution, and higher 1-octene incorporation than (H-salalen)TiCl/MAO, which revealed that the electron-withdrawing conjugated effect introduced by fluorine substituents led to improvements on catalytic performance and thermal stability. The influences of copolymerization conditions including temperature, Al/Ti molar ratios and comonomer feed ratios on the copolymerization behavior of (F-salalen)TiCl/MAO and the copolymer microstructure were investigated in detail.

The purpose of this study was to assess the ability of titanium Ti(IV) alkyloxy compounds supported by organic polymer polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to polymerize ethylene by feeding triethylaluminium (TEA) as a cocatalyst. Additionally, the impacts of the molar ratio of [Al]/[Ti] on the catalytic activities in ethylene's polymerization and of the comonomer through utilization of diverse quantities of comonomers on a similar or identical activity were studied. The optimal molar ratio of [Al]/[Ti] was 773:1, and the prepared catalyst had an initial activity of up to 2.

The 1.0G dendrimer polyamidoamine (PAMAM), 3,5-dichlorosalicylaldehyde, and TiCl·2THF were used as synthetic materials, and the dendritic salicylaldehyde imide ligand with substituent hindrance and its titanium catalyst were synthesized by the condensation reaction of Schiff base. The structure of the synthesized products was characterized by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectroscopy, ultraviolet spectroscopy, electrospray mass spectrometry, and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry.
