This study applies proton transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometry for the rapid analysis of volatile compounds released from single coffee beans. The headspace volatile profiles of single coffee beans (Coffeea arabica) from different geographical origins (Brazil, Guatemala and Ethiopia) were analyzed via offline profiling at different stages of roasting. The effect of coffee geographical origin was reflected on volatile compound formation that was supported by one-way ANOVA. Clear origin signatures were observed in the formation of different coffee odorants. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Stingless bees (tribe Meliponini), comprising over 600 known species within the largest group of eusocial bees, play a critical role in ecosystem functioning through their pollination services. They contribute to the reproduction of numerous plant species, including many economically important crops such as cacao, coffee, and various fruits. Beyond their ecological significance, stingless bees hold cultural and economic importance for many native and rural communities, where they are managed for their honey, pollen, and propolis for nutritional and health purposes.

Background: New therapeutic cessation approaches are being tested in clinical trials to engage and retain people who smoke. Our team is conducting a pragmatic randomized clinical trial (RCT) to evaluate a new treatment for tobacco dependence, but enrolling participants and ensuring adherence has been more challenging than in previous trials.
Objective: To determine the predictors of enrollment and adherence in the RCT.

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the color stability of nanofilled composites with and without the application of a dentin bonding agent (Single Bond Universal Adhesive) as a surface sealer, following exposure to common beverages.
Methods: Eighty specimen disks of a nanofilled composite (Filtek 350XT) were prepared and divided into two groups: one treated without a composite sealer (Group A) and one with a composite sealer (Single Bond Universal Adhesive) (Group B). Each group was subdivided into four subgroups (subgroups A1, A2, A3, and A4 and subgroups B1, B2, B3, and B4), and each subgroup was immersed in a separate container containing coffee, tea, cola, or distilled water for 15 days.
