This paper will show that the solution small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) intensity of globular and membrane proteins can be efficiently and accurately computed from molecular dynamics trajectories using 3D fast Fourier transforms (FFTs). A suitable particle meshing interpolation, similar to the one used in smooth particle mesh Ewald for electrostatic energies and forces, was combined with a uniform solvent density FFT padding scheme to obtain a convenient SAXS spectral resolution. The CPU time scaling of the method, as a function of system size, is highly favorable and its application to large systems such as solutions of solvated membrane proteins is computationally undemanding. Differently from other approaches, all contributions from the simulation cell are included. This means that the subtraction of the buffer from the solution scattering intensity is straightforward and devoid of artifact due to ad hoc definitions of proximal and distal solvent intensity contributions.

is a Gram-negative bacillus responsible for a wide variety of potentially fatal infections and, in turn, constitutes a critical agent of healthcare-associated infections. Moreover, is characterized by multi-drug-resistant (MDR) bacteria, such as extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) and carbapenemase (KPC) producer strains, representing a significant health problem. Because resistances make it difficult to eradicate using antibiotics, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) promises to be a favorable approach to complementing conventional therapy against MDR bacteria.

A sequences of unconfined compressive strength tests and flexural tests were conducted in this study to evaluate the curing performance of a new type of polyurethane sand fast-curing polymer material. The mechanical properties of the material were investigated under different curing temperatures (-10 °C to 60 °C), particle sizes (10-15 mesh, 60-80 mesh, 100-120 mesh, and 325 mesh), and material proportions (20% to 60%). Additionally, SEM analysis was employed to further reveal the reinforcement mechanism.

A hybrid microgrid powered by hydrogen is an energy infrastructure that depends on hydrogen as its primary energy carrier within a localized network. This study proposed a novel bi-level optimization approach to enhance power quality and cost efficiency of the system. In the quest to improve energy management systems (EMS) and enhance power quality, a bi-level optimization approach named Particle swarm optimization-Modified water wave optimization (PSO-MWWO) has been proposed.

Tannic acid (TA) has attracted the attention of researchers as a promising organic ligand capable of forming metal-organic coordination networks with various metal ions at interfaces to impact surface properties. In this study, we innovatively reported a self-assembly method for surface decoration by depositing TA/Fe coatings on the surface of desalted duck egg white nanoparticles (DEWN), further studying the oil/water interfacial properties of the modified particles. The results showed that the ratio and concentration of TA to Fe could modulate interfacial properties.
