Two new species of syringophilid mites collected from Prionops scopifrons (Peters) (Passeriformes: Vangidae) in Kenya are described: Neoaulonastus prionops sp. nov. and Picobia meru sp. nov. They are the first syringophilid records from birds of the family Vangidae.
