Purpose: Is machine learning (ML) superior to the traditionally used logistic regression (LR) in prediction of neurodevelopmental outcomes in preterm infants?
Objectives: To develop and internally validate a ML model to predict neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI) in very preterm infants (<31 weeks) at 36 months corrected age, using clinical predictors.
Methods: A retrospective cohort of very preterm infants (2330 weeks) born between January 2004 and December 2016 in Nova Scotia, Canada. Survivors with neurodevelopmental assessment at 36 months corrected age were included.

: Primary gynecological melanomas are rare malignancies with lower survival rates compared to cutaneous melanomas. Both preclinical and clinical data support the evidence that mucosal melanomas are photon-radioresistant but responsive to carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT). The aim of this study is to assess, in a real-world cohort, the effectiveness and tolerability of radical CIRT in patients with inoperable gynecological mucosal melanoma.

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a technique used to support severe cardiopulmonary failure. Its potential life-saving benefits are tempered by the significant risk for acute brain injury (ABI), from both primary pathophysiologic factors and ECMO-related complications through central nervous system cellular injury, blood-brain barrier dysfunction (BBB), systemic inflammation and neuroinflammation, and coagulopathy. Plasma biomarkers are an emerging tool used to stratify risk for and diagnose ABI, and prognosticate neurofunctional outcomes.

The grassland ecosystem forms a critical part of the natural ecosystem, covering up to 15-26% of the Earth's land surface. Grassland significantly impacts the carbon cycle and climate regulation by storing carbon dioxide. The organic matter found in grassland biomass, which acts as a carbon source, greatly expands the carbon stock in terrestrial ecosystems.
