We present a theory of electron scattering on a magnetic Skyrmion for the case when the exchange interaction is moderate so that the adiabatic approximation and the Berry phase approach are not applicable. The theory explains the appearance of a topological Hall current in the systems with magnetic Skyrmions, the special importance of which is its applicability to dilute magnetic semiconductors with a weak exchange interaction.

Background: Noroviruses, which cause epidemic acute gastroenteritis, and parasites, which lead to malaria, are two infectious pathogens that pose threats to public health. The protruding (P) domain of norovirus VP1 and the αTSR domain of the circumsporozoite protein (CSP) of sporozoite are the glycan receptor-binding domains of the two pathogens for host cell attachment, making them excellent targets for vaccine development. Modified norovirus P domains self-assemble into a 24-meric octahedral P nanoparticle (P NP).

The endosomal escape of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) is crucial for efficient mRNA-based therapeutics. Here, we present a cationic polymeric micelle (cPM) as a safe and potent co-delivery system with enhanced endosomal escape capabilities. We synthesized a cationic and ampholytic di-block copolymer, poly (poly (ethylene glycol) methacrylate--hexyl methacrylate)--poly(butyl methacrylate--dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate--propyl acrylate) (p(PEGMA--HMA)--p(BMA--DMAEMA--PAA)), via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major public health concern, and the development of an effective HCV vaccine plays an important role in the effort to prevent new infections. Supramolecular co-assembly and co-presentation of the HCV envelope E1E2 heterodimer complex and core protein presents an attractive vaccine design strategy for achieving effective humoral and cellular immunity. With this objective, the two antigens were non-covalently assembled with an immunostimulant (TLR 7/8 agonist) into virus-mimicking polymer nanocomplexes (VMPNs) using a biodegradable synthetic polyphosphazene delivery vehicle.

Background: The German cockroach () is a pest with a global distribution that has adapted to live in human environments. threatens human health by producing asthma-inducing allergens, carrying pathogenic/antibiotic-resistant microbes, and contributing to unhealthy indoor environments. Effective application of insecticides can play an important role in cockroach control programs.

Directed assembly of abiotic catalysts onto biological redox protein frameworks is of interest as an approach for the synthesis of biohybrid catalysts that combine features of both synthetic and biological materials. In this report, we provide a multiscale characterization of the platinum nanoparticle (NP) hydrogen-evolving catalysts that are assembled by light-driven reductive precipitation of platinum from an aqueous salt solution onto the photosystem I protein (PSI), isolated from cyanobacteria as trimeric PSI. The resulting PSI-NP assemblies were analyzed using a combination of X-ray energy-dispersive spectroscopy (XEDS), high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and high-energy X-ray scattering with atomic pair distribution function (PDF) analyses.
