Liquid-liquid phase transition as a basis for novel materials for skin repair and regeneration.

Inorganic materials are of increasing interest not only for bone repair but also for other applications in regenerative medicine. In this study, the combined effects of energy-providing, regeneratively active inorganic polyphosphate (polyP) and also morphogenetically active pearl powder on wound healing were investigated. Aragonite, the mineralic constituent of pearl nacre and thermodynamically unstable form of crystalline calcium carbonate, was found to be converted into a soluble state in the presence of a Ca-containing wound exudate, particularly upon addition of sodium polyP (Na-polyP), driven by the transfer of Ca ions from aragonite to polyP, leading to liquid-liquid phase separation to form an aqueous Ca-polyP coacervate.

Background: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are widely used in cancer patients despite accumulating data showing that they can impact the efficacy of major anticancer drugs. This is particularly important with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (CPIs).

Results: Most TKIs require gastric acidity for their absorption and some retrospective series demonstrated that coprescription decreases the survival benefit of some TKI use (erlotinib, gefitinib and pazopanib).

The effect of food composition, tablet crushing, and antacid coadministration on maribavir pharmacokinetics was assessed in 2 Phase 1 studies in healthy adults. In the first, a single maribavir 400-mg dose was administered under fasting conditions, with a low-fat/low-calorie or a high-fat/high-calorie meal. In the second, a single maribavir 100-mg dose was administered under fasting conditions, as a crushed tablet, or as a whole tablet alone or with an antacid.

Background: Tegoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker that inhibits gastric acid and which may be used for eradicating Helicobacter pylori. This study focuses on the pharmacokinetic interaction and safety between tegoprazan and the combination of clarithromycin, amoxicillin and bismuth in healthy Chinese subjects.

Methods: An open-label, three-period, single-center, multiple-dosage, single-sequence, phase I trial was conducted in 22 healthy subjects.
