Abstract Vascular prostheses, excised because of their functional properties loss, were studied. Using different methods there was established, that this complication is caused by the thrombus formation as a reaction of organism on the prosthesis material. The testing procedure on compatibility was proposed, using atomic-power microscope. Components of a patient immunity may identify the prosthesis material and start the rejection mechanisms in case of negative reaction.

Dietary glycemic and insulin indices with the risk of osteoporosis: results from the Iranian teachers cohort study.

Front Nutr

January 2025

Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Nutrition and Food Technology, National Nutrition and Food Technology Research Institute, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.

Background: Osteoporosis is a chronic condition characterized by reduced bone strength and an elevated risk of fractures. The influence of diet and glucose metabolism on bone health and the development of osteoporosis has been an area of interest. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between dietary glycemic index (DGI), dietary glycemic load (DGL), dietary insulin index (DII), dietary insulin load (DIL), and the odds of osteoporosis among Iranian adults.

Neurovascular flow-diverting stents (FDSs) are revolutionizing the paradigm for treatment of intracranial aneurysms, but they still face great challenges like post- implantation acute thrombosis and delayed reendothelialization. Surface modification is of crucial relevance in addressing such key issues. In this study, we fabricated an ultrathin nanocoating out of copper (II) together with protocatechuic acid (PCA) and nattokinase (NK) bioactive molecules on NiTi FDSs via a coordination chemistry approach, with favorable biophysiochemical interactions, to fulfill this goal.

January 2025

Department of Pharmacology, School of Basic Medicine, Tongji Medical College and State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Severe Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei 430030, China.

Aims: Dedicator of Cytokinesis 2 (DOCK2), a member of the DOCK family of Guanine nucleotide exchange factors that specifically act on the Rho GTPases including Rac and Cdc42, plays pivotal roles in the regulation of leukocyte homeostasis. However, its functions in platelets remain unknown.

Methods And Results: Using mice with genetic deficiency of DOCK2 (Dock2-/-), we showed that Dock2-/-mice exhibited a macrothrombocytopenic phenotype characterized as decreased platelet count and enlarged platelet size by transmission electron microscopy.

Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome (IVCS) is a common risk factor for deep vein thrombosis in the lower extremities. The objective of this study was to investigate whether employing a porous medium model to simulate the compressed region of an iliac vein could improve the reliability and accuracy of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis outcomes of IVCS. Pre-operative Computed Tomography (CT) scan images of patients with IVCS were utilized to reconstruct models illustrating both the compression and collateral circulation of the iliac vein.

Background: Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite dependent on intestinal microbiota, is closely related to the emergence, progression, and prognosis of cardiovascular disease (CVD), and has received increasing attention in recent years.

Objective: The current research hotspots and future development trends in TMAO and CVD field are found through bibliometrics analysis, which provides reference for further study.

Methods: The bibliometrics tools VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze the publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database.
