An aqueous catalytic method for double C-S bond formations that involves alcohol derivatives, organic halides, and sodium thiosulfate has been developed. A diverse range of functionalized sulfides, including pharmaceutical and biological derivatives, can be obtained in an efficient and eco-friendly manner under air. The mechanistic studies revealed that this tetrabutylammonium-iodide-catalyzed/water-assisted reaction generated a mercaptan species as the key intermediate.

However, the effects of such blankets on increasing deep sleep, reducing blood pressure, enhancing memory, dilating microvessels for blood flow, reducing chronic inflammation, and decreasing fatigue remain to be studied. Night workers tend to eat irregularly, both in terms of meal times and composition. The disruption in energy metabolism caused by inappropriate eating habits can negatively affect the sleep quality of these individuals. This study examined whether theta oscillations were compromised by the type of circadian disruption that impairs hippocampal-dependent memory processes. In prior studies on Siberian hamsters, we developed a one-time light treatment that eliminated circadian timing in the central pacemaker, the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). These arrhythmic animals had impaired hippocampal-dependent memory whereas animals made arrhythmic with SCN lesions did not.
