In recent decades, worldwide concerns about the health of honey bees motivated the development of surveys to monitor the colony losses, of which Sub-Saharan Africa has had limited representation. In the context of climate change, understanding how climate affects colony losses has become fundamental, yet literature on this subject is scarce. For the first time, we conducted a survey to estimate the livestock decrease of honey bee colonies in Kenya for the year 2021-2022 to explore the effects of environmental conditions, such as temperature and precipitation, on livestock decrease.

Antibiotics threaten scleractinian corals, but their accumulation patterns and physiological effects on corals in natural reefs remain unclear. This study investigated antibiotic occurrence in seawater and two coral species, Galaxea fascicularis and Pocillopora damicornis, and explored the physiological effects of bioaccumulated antibiotics in a fringing reef of the South China Sea. Nineteen antibiotic components were detected in seawater, with total antibiotic concentrations (ΣABs) ranging from 17.

Objective: To gain a more holistic understanding of oral health in the past by producing an 'Index of Oro-dental Disease' (IOD), incorporating multiple oro-dental diseases and accounting for differences in antemortem/postmortem alveolar bone and tooth loss.
Materials: UK Adult Dental Health Survey, 2009 anonymised dataset (N = 6206). Archaeological dental data from skeletal individuals from medieval and post-medieval Barton-upon-Humber, North Lincolnshire (N = 214, 1150-1855) and St James's Gardens Burial Ground, London (N = 281, 1789-1853).

We aimed to determine the persisting effects of various exercise modalities and intensities on functional capacity after periods of training cessation in older adults. A comprehensive search was conducted across the Cochrane Library, PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science Core Collection up to March 2024 for randomized controlled trials examining residual effects of physical exercise on functional capacity in older adults ≥ 60 years. The analysis encompassed 15 studies and 21 intervention arms, involving 787 participants.
