The main aim of this study was to assess the dimensional structure of the Maltese version of the Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (DEBQ) and evaluate the instrument's validity and reliability among Maltese women (N = 586). Exploratory factor analysis reflected the theoretical structure of three factors; emotional, restrained and external eating which was supported by a Confirmatory Factor analysis. Minor issues with specific items in the Emotional and External eating scale were identified and discussed. Criterion-related validity was ascertained through correlations with the EAT-26. The study also assessed the DEBQ's predictive value in differentiating between BMI groups and between dieters and weight maintainers. The results suggest that the Maltese DEBQ is a psychometrically valid and reliable instrument for assessing eating behaviours with women in the Maltese community. The study also highlights the critical role of Emotional and Restrained eating in dieting and overweight Maltese women.

Although the association of type 2 diabetes (T2D) with an increased risk of poor physical function and frailty in older adults is widely documented, the underlying pathophysiological pathways linking these two entities are not fully understood. Accordingly, we conducted a cross-sectional observational study aiming to investigate the association of T2D and its microvascular complications retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy, with gait speed (GS), a common surrogate marker of functional decline, adjusting for age, sex, and cognitive function, in the cohort of older adults of the DIALCAT project (Catalonia, Spain). From the initial 335 participants, 84 were excluded because of missing or incorrect GS assessment.

Primary pulmonary angiosarcomas are rare malignancies, with aggressive clinical behavior and poor prognosis. Here we present a case of a rare primary pulmonary epithelioid angiosarcoma in a 59-year-old woman who initially presented with right-sided chest pain and shortness of breath. Chest X-ray revealed right lower lobe atelectasis, while a chest computed tomography angiography (CTA) showed a large right hydrothorax with collapse of most of the right lung.

Background: Reasons for Th2 skewing in IgE-mediated food allergies remains unclear. Clinical observations suggest impaired T cell activation may drive Th2 responses evidenced by increased atopic manifestations in liver transplant patients on tacrolimus (a calcineurin inhibitor). We aimed to assess differentiation potential, T cell activation and calcium influx of naïve CD4 T cells in children with IgE-mediated food allergies.

Most of the literature that has looked at children's relationships with their parents in the domestic violence context has focused solely on the children's relationship with one parent or is studied from the perspective of one parent, usually the mother. Sibling relationships in the same context are also under-studied. This paper explores in more detail the complexity of children's relationships with their mothers, fathers, and siblings over time from the perspective of adult women and survivors of childhood domestic violence.
