Antipyrine test has been used to assess drug metabolism of the liver in 43 subjects, including 20 patients suffering from eczema and allergic dermatitis. "Rapid" oxidizers predominated among the patients; tissue barrier permeability for the test agent has been increased in eczema patients. These data should be borne in mind when prescribing the drugs that are subjected mainly to oxidizing metabolism, primarily antiinflammatory agents, to patients suffering from allergic dermatoses.

Allergies are closely associated with sex-related hormonal variations that influence immune function, leading to distinct symptom profiles. Similar sex-based differences are observed in other immune disorders, such as autoimmune diseases. In allergies, women exhibit a higher prevalence of atopic conditions, such as allergic asthma and eczema, in comparison to men.

Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of immunoglobulin E (IgE), fractional of exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), and peripheral blood eosinophils (EOS) in adult bronchial asthma and to analyze their relationship with asthma severity.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 336 patients diagnosed with bronchial asthma and admitted to Xi'an Fourth Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024, forming the asthma group. Additionally, another 127 healthy subjects were selected as the non-asthmatic control group.

The etiological basis of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors is uncertain. We used Mendelian randomization technique to investigate the potential influence of several risk factors on the likelihood of developing pituitary neuroendocrine tumors. We admitted 8 risk factors, divided into 3 lifestyle factors and 5 chronic diseases as exposure factors.

Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common chronic respiratory disease that can lead to the development of various other conditions. Although genetic risk loci associated with AR have been reported, the connections between these loci and AR comorbidities or other diseases remain unclear.
Methods: This study conducted a phenome-wide association study (PheWAS) using known AR risk loci to explore the impact of known AR risk variants on a broad spectrum of phenotypes.

Background: Intestinal barrier dysfunction may lead to a break in tolerance and development of food allergy (FA). There is contradictory evidence on whether intestinal permeability (IP) is altered in IgE-mediated FA. Thus, we sought to determine whether IP differed between children with eczema who did (FA group) or did not (atopic controls, ACs) develop FA and whether peanut sensitization, allergy, and early introduction impacted IP using serum biomarkers zonulin, soluble CD14, and Intestinal Fatty Acid Binding Protein among randomly selected participants enrolled in the Learning Early About Peanut allergy trial.
