The noncritically phase-matched (NCPM) fourth-harmonic generation (FHG) with partially deuterated dihydrogen phosphate (KD*P) crystal at an Nd:glass laser radiation wavelength of 1053.1 nm has been confirmed. NCPM FHG has been achieved in 70% and 65% deuterated KD*P crystal at the temperature of 17.7°C and 29.3°C, respectively. The angular acceptance of 70% and 65% deuterated KD*P crystals fixed at their NCPM temperature were measured, which were 53 and 55 mrad, respectively. The application of the NCPM FHG in a high-power laser facility for inertial confinement fusion is also discussed. Based on the theoretical analysis, the NCPM KD*P can be placed after the focus lens; thus, the laser-induced damage of a fused-silica lens at ultraviolet can be avoided.

In this work, a double-end diffusion bonded Nd:YVO self-Raman laser was designed to drive an intracavity, noncritically-phase-matched KTiOAsO (KTA) optical parametric oscillator (OPO). Both conversion efficiency and output power at 1.7 µm (the wavelength of the OPO signal field) were improved by effectively reducing the thermal lens effect and increasing the effective length of self-Raman medium.

Here, we report on second harmonic generation (SHG) in MgO-doped LNOI ridge micro-waveguides for efficient green light emission, via an exact type-I noncritical birefringence phase matching (BPM). The LNOI micro-waveguide has a cross section of ∼3×4 m, featuring low coupling loss with lens fiber.

Theoretical analysis indicated that partially deuterated ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (DADP) crystal with a deuterium content of 23% could realize spectral noncritical phase-matching (S-NCPM) for type-I frequency doubling of an Nd:glass laser. To explore the temperature dependence of the phase matching (PM) angle of the second harmonic generation (SHG) process and the output SHG bandwidth of DADP crystal at 1.053 μm, we used the point-seed rapid-growth method to grow targeted DADP crystal with 23% deuterium content.

A second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of up to 52% was achieved with type I non-critically phase-matched lithium triborate (LBO), with a total SHG pulse energy of up to 17 mJ obtained at 1 kHz repetition rate. The dense parallel arrangement of amplifying cores into a shared pump cladding enables a significant increase in the energy capacity of active fibers.

The so-called self-difference frequency generation is realized along the a-axis of a Cr:CdSe single crystal pumped by a Tm:YAG laser pulse at 2.013 µm, directly producing an infrared spectrum centered at 9 µm with the maximized effective nonlinearity.
