In this paper, the performance of an end-pumped laser amplifier was experimentally studied by adjusting the pumping wavelength of a laser diode. An interesting phenomenon was observed: that the gain would decrease with an increase in absorbed pump power. The scaled output power of 0.3 at. % doped 20 mm long Nd:YVO crystal decreased from 0.48 to 0.2 W when the absorbed pump power increased from 17.5 to 17.8 W. Theoretical analysis was demonstrated according to our previous model. The long crystal length is the main reason for the observed phenomenon. This phenomenon could be utilized to enhance amplifier gain and improve thermal performance, including the maximal temperature and thermal stress of the crystal.

Resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) is an ideal X-ray spectroscopy method to push the combination of energy and time resolutions to the Fourier transform ultimate limit, because it is unaffected by the core-hole lifetime energy broadening. Also, in pump-probe experiments the interaction time is made very short by the same core-hole lifetime. RIXS is very photon hungry so it takes great advantage from high-repetition-rate pulsed X-ray sources like the European XFEL.

Tumor organoids are biological models for studying precision medicine. Microfluidic technology offers significant benefits for high throughput drug screening using tumor organoids. However, the range of concentrations achievable with traditional linear gradient generators in microfluidics is restricted, generating logarithmic drug concentration gradients by adjusting the channel ratio in the chip is confined to single-drug dilution chips, significantly restricting the application of microfluidics in drug screening.

Introduction Monitored anesthesia care (MAC) is an anesthesia management method in which anesthesiologists use the minimum necessary intravenous anesthetics to achieve sedation and pain relief while maintaining spontaneous breathing. The challenge for the anesthesiologist is to find the correct balance between inhibiting the patient's stress response to invasive treatment, maintaining intraoperative hemodynamic stability, and doing so as quickly as possible. We hypothesized that diluting remifentanil (D-remi) to 10 μg/mL and increasing the rate of administration would increase the responsiveness of the syringe pump and allow for better control of anesthetic depth.

Maintaining precise intragastric pressure during gastrointestinal endoscopy is critical for patient safety and diagnostic accuracy, yet current methods relying on manual adjustments pose risks of improper insufflation. This study aimed to develop an automated gastric pressure control system for flexible endoscopy, addressing these challenges with a piezoresistive pressure sensor that can be integrated into a 7.3 mm diameter flexible endoscope.
