We present here the calculation of the mean time to capture of a tethered ligand to the receptor. This calculation is then used to determine the shift in the partitioning between (1) free, (2) singly bound, and (3) doubly bound ligands in chemical equilibrium as a function of the length of the tether. These calculations are used in the research article Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 Dimer with Superagonist in vitro Activity Improves Granulation Tissue Formation During Wound Healing (Decker et al., in press [1]) to explain quantitatively how changes in polymeric linker length in the ligand dimers modifies the efficacy of these molecules relative to that of free ligands.

The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and its follow-on (GRACE-FO) missions have provided estimates of Terrestrial Water Storage Anomalies (TWSA) since 2002, enabling the monitoring of global hydrological changes. However, temporal gaps within these datasets and the lack of TWSA observations prior to 2002 limit our understanding of long-term freshwater variability. In this study, we develop GRAiCE, a set of four global monthly TWSA reconstructions from 1984 to 2021 at 0.

Background: Breakfast, often considered the most important meal of the day, affects both physical and mental health. While most studies focused on the effects of skipping breakfast on depression, few explored the roles of breakfast quality and breakfast time. The study aimed to investigate the association of breakfast habits and breakfast quality with depression.

Domestic laundry wastewater is a major contributor to microfiber emissions in the aquatic environment. Among several mitigation measures, the use of external filters to capture microfibers from wastewater is one of the most efficient and commercially viable methods. This study attempted to develop an eco-friendly filtration medium to filter microfibers in laundry wastewater using luffa cylindrica fibers.

Despite extensive research on the impact of grandchild care on grandparents' well-being, no studies have examined the frequency of activities that grandparents engage in with their grandchildren or the reasons for care using nationally representative data. We address this gap using waves 8 (2016/2017) and 9 (2018/19) of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, a nationally representative study of English older adults. We employ hybrid regression models to distinguish between within- and between-individual effects on grandparents' subjective wellbeing, as captured by quality of life and depressive symptoms.

Quantitative characterization of protein conformational landscapes is a computationally challenging task due to their high dimensionality and inherent complexity. In this study, we systematically benchmark several widely used dimensionality reduction and clustering methods to analyze the conformational states of the Trp-Cage mini-protein, a model system with well-documented folding dynamics. Dimensionality reduction techniques, including Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Time-lagged Independent Component Analysis (TICA), and Variational Autoencoders (VAE), were employed to project the high-dimensional free energy landscape onto 2D spaces for visualization.
