To compare perinatal outcomes in women with oligohydramnios and an unfavorable cervix undergoing labor induction with misoprostol to prostaglandin E2. We conducted a secondary analysis of women with oligohydramnios undergoing labor induction in the Consortium on Safe Labor study (2002-2008). Oligohydramnios was recorded in the medical chart. We evaluated perinatal outcomes. We limited the analysis to women with an unfavorable cervix defined by simplified Bishop score ≤ 4. Misoprostol was compared with prostaglandin E2. Women could have received oxytocin, underwent mechanical dilation, or had artificial rupture of membranes, but women who underwent induction with both misoprostol and prostaglandin E2 were excluded. We calculated adjusted odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals, controlling for maternal age, maternal body mass index (kg/m), parity, and mechanical dilation. Among women with oligohydramnios and an unfavorable cervix who underwent induction of labor, 141 (39.4%) received misoprostol and 217 (60.6%) received prostaglandin E2. There were no significant differences in cesarean delivery, chorioamnionitis, postpartum hemorrhage, transfusion, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission, NICU stay > 72 hours, mechanical ventilation, and neonatal sepsis. In women with oligohydramnios and an unfavorable cervix, induction of labor with misoprostol was comparable to prostaglandin E2.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Related Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection during pregnancy was associated with a number of adverse pregnancy outcomes, including miscarriage, preeclampsia, preterm birth, and stillbirth. The virus persistence can last for a long time, and the consequences of a previous coronavirus infection are currently under study. This study aimed to establish the clinical features of the course of pregnancy and childbirth in women with a history of asymptomatic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Background: ALG8-congenital disorder of glycosylation (ALG8-CDG) is a rare inherited metabolic disorder leading to severe multisystem manifestations, with no reported prenatal patients to date.
Methods: We describe two fetuses from a single family with ALG8-CDG presenting with prenatal hydrops, undergoing comprehensive prenatal ultrasound, umbilical cord blood biochemistry, autopsy, placental pathology, and genetic testing.
Results: Prenatal ultrasound revealed fetal hydrops, skeletal anomalies, cardiac developmental abnormalities, cataracts, echogenic kidneys and bowel, oligohydramnios, choroid plexus cysts, and intrauterine growth restriction.

: In the case of threatened preterm birth (PTB) before the 34th week of pregnancy, the application of antenatal corticosteroids (ACSs) for the maturation of the fetal lung is a standard procedure in perinatal medicine. Common diagnoses for ACS use in pregnancy are the preterm rupture of membranes (PPROMs), placental bleeding, premature labor, preeclampsia, oligohydramnios, amniotic infection syndrome (AIS), and cervical insufficiency. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the current diagnosis, which results in ACS, and the patient's risk factors influence the risk of PTB events.

Introduction Hypothyroidism represents an endocrine disorder marked by the insufficient production of hormones by the thyroid gland, with significant effects on bodily functions. Its occurrence during pregnancy is of particular concern due to its profound effects on both maternal and fetal health outcomes. Aim To study the impact of hypothyroidism in pregnancy and its correlation with feto-maternal outcomes.
