Treatment options for recurrent high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (HR NMIBC) and muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) are limited, highlighting a need for clinically effective, accessible, and better-tolerated alternatives. In this review we examine the clinical development program of TAR-200, a novel targeted releasing system designed to provide sustained intravesical delivery of gemcitabine to address the needs of patients with NMIBC and of those with MIBC. We describe the concept and design of TAR-200 and the clinical development of this gemcitabine intravesical system in the SunRISe portfolio of studies.

Objective: Image-guided diagnosis and treatment of lung lesions is an active area of research. With the growing number of solutions proposed, there is also a growing need to establish a standard for the evaluation of these solutions. Thus, realistic phantom and preclinical environments must be established.

The use of depth of anesthesia monitoring, such as a processed electroencephalogram (pEEG), can decrease the risk of awareness with recall, yet the current standards for monitoring during the administration of anesthesia do not include the use of brain monitoring for anesthetic depth. This retrospective cohort study describes the frequency of use and explores the characteristics of utilization of pEEG monitoring by anesthesia professionals during the administration of general anesthesia in the adult patient population at a large academic medical center. Descriptive associations with pEEG monitoring were confirmed in both univariate and multivariable analyses with multiple patient, anesthetic, and surgical characteristics.

Van der Waals (vdW) magnets offer unique opportunities for exploring magnetism in the 2D limit. Metal-organic magnets (MOM) are of particular interest as the functionalisation of organic ligands can control their physical properties. Here, we demonstrate tuning of mechanical and magnetic function of a noncollinear vdW ferromagnet, NiCl(btd) (btd = 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole), through creating solid-solutions with the oxygen-substituted analogue ligand 2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (bod).

As academic medical centers have moved away from using learner ratings of instruction as a demonstration of quality teaching in the promotion process, Indiana University School of Medicine sought to create a peer review of teaching system. We created our system in 2010 and have engaged in continuous quality improvement since. In these efforts, we sought to answer the question, "How can we create a system of peer review of teaching that provides high-quality feedback to faculty and encourages autonomy and growth?" Our peer review of teaching system includes a website, with a brief introduction to the concept of peer review, as well as a series of customizable forms that allows faculty and peer reviewers to choose items for observation and feedback based on teaching setting.
