Aim: Ventral mesh rectopexy (VMR) is an established surgical treatment for rectal prolapse and outlet obstruction. In contrast to continental Europe, in the UK and US the use of synthetic mesh has been abandoned in favour of biologic mesh, due to concerns regarding mesh related morbidity. The current study investigated if either material is superior, in terms of clinical recurrence and mesh related complications.

Introduction And Hypothesis: The objective was to implement an evidence-based peri-partum care bundle for women sustaining obstetric anal sphincter injuries and to evaluate compliance with recommendations for antibiotics use, repair in the operating room, and follow-up before and after implementation.
Methods: This project was reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and determined to be exempt. A clinical care bundle containing education and standardized orders in the electronic medical record was implemented.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Multicompartment prolapse is a complex pelvic floor condition that can involve coordination of both urogynecologists and colorectal surgeons.
Methods: Concomitant sacrocolpopexy and ventral rectopexy is a safe and effective approach to treating this condition.
Results: The combined procedure has high rates of patient satisfaction and symptom improvement, including defecatory dysfunction, sexual health, and overall increased quality of life.
