The distributed nature of IoT systems and new trends focusing on fog computing enforce the need for reliable communication that ensures the required quality of service for various scenarios. Due to the direct interaction with the real world, failure to deliver the required QoS level can introduce system failures and lead to further negative consequences for users. This paper introduces a prediction-based resource allocation method for Multi-Access Edge Computing-capable networks, aimed at assurance of the required QoS and optimization of resource utilization for various types of IoT use cases featuring adaptability to changes in users' requests.

Enhanced Vernier Effect in Cascaded Fiber Loop Interferometers for Improving Temperature Sensitivity.

This work presents a high-sensitivity temperature sensing system utilizing an enhanced Vernier effect implemented in cascaded fiber loop interferometers. High-sensitivity temperature sensors based on the Vernier effect have broad application prospects, but the sensitivity of traditional measurement schemes is difficult to improve further due to the limited variation in the difference between two free spectrum ranges (FSRs). Our sensing system incorporates two fiber loop interferometers and a single-mode fiber to form a Vernier spectral response, characterized by two complementary optical filter responses.

Evidence Acquisition: The identification of studies involved a search across three databases - PubMed, Scopus, and Sportdiscus - until July 2023. The key terms utilized were fatigue, anterior cruciate ligament, biomechanics, electromyography, and landing.

In the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), age of information (AoI) has become a vital performance metric for evaluating the freshness of information in communication systems. Although many studies aim to minimize the average AoI of the system through optimized resource scheduling schemes, they often fail to adequately consider the queue characteristics. Moreover, vehicle mobility leads to rapid changes in network topology and channel conditions, making it difficult to accurately reflect the unique characteristics of vehicles with the calculated AoI under ideal channel conditions.
