Methods for the rapid construction of new chemical motifs have the potential to accelerate the development of nanoscience. The synthesis of new chemical entities by laser ablation has been systematically demonstrated by using mixtures of gold and selenium. The compounds generated are detected by time-of-flight mass spectrometry and, for selected compounds, the structure is investigated by using density functional theory optimization. In total, 67 new gold selenide clusters have been synthesized, demonstrating an unsuspected richness in gold chemistry. Chemical species generated in the gas phase might inspire new routes for the synthesis of novel compounds in the solid state.

Dorsal closure is a process that occurs during embryogenesis of . During dorsal closure, the amnioserosa (AS), a one-cell thick epithelial tissue that fills the dorsal opening, shrinks as the lateral epidermis sheets converge and eventually merge. During this process, both shape index and aspect ratio of amnioserosa cells increase markedly.

Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is a rare and aggressive subtype of complex lymphatic anomalies (CLA), characterized by abnormal lymphatic proliferation leading to distinct clinical manifestations. Despite the complexity of this condition, there is no established standard therapy, and treatment options such as sclerotherapy, laser therapy, and surgery remain variably effective and are limited to symptom management rather than curative. Sirolimus, an mTOR pathway inhibitor, has shown promise as a primary therapy, particularly in patients without a driver mutation.

Background: Predictors of the efficacy of a single-session of CO2 laser therapy for female stress urinary incontinence are important for pretreatment consultation. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate these predictors.
Methods: All consecutive women who underwent vaginal CO2 laser therapy for stress urinary incontinence were prospectively enrolled.

Although cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) activation combined with programmed cell death-1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-L1) axis blockade have emerged as an effective strategy to improve immunotherapeutic potency, it remains challenging to realize the spatiotemporal synergy of these two components. Herein, the study reports an engineered bacterial-based delivery system that can simultaneously promote CTLs infiltration and control PD-L1 binding protein (PD-L1 trap) release on demand at tumor site. The drug release button of this tumor targeting system is the specific temperature, which is accomplished by dual-modified melanin nanoparticles with photothermal conversion capacity on the engineered bacterial.

Purpose: Alteration of visual acuity in wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is mostly driven by vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A)-induced edema from leaky newly forming blood vessels below the retina layers. To date, all therapies aimed at alleviation of this process have relied on inhibition of VEGF-A activity. Although effective in preventing vascular leak and edema, this approach also leads to the loss of normal vasculature and multiple related side effects.
