Introduction: Understanding speech in noisy environments is challenging even for individuals with normal hearing, and it poses a significant challenge for those with hearing impairments or listening difficulties. There are limitations associated with the current methods of evaluating speech comprehension in such environments, especially in individuals with peripheral hearing impairments. According to the predictive coding model, speech comprehension is an active inference process that integrates sensory information through the interaction of bottom-up and top-down processing.

In general, ensuring safety is the top priority of a new modality. Although oncolytic virus armed with an immune stimulatory transgene (OVI) showed some promise, the strategic concept of simultaneously achieving maximum effectiveness and minimizing side effects has not been fully explored. We generated a variety of survivin-responsive "conditionally replicating adenoviruses that can target and treat cancer cells with multiple factors (m-CRAs)" (Surv.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the mean glandular dose (MGD), to assess the potential for optimization, and to propose diagnostic reference levels (DRLs). MGD was estimated from air kerma measurements and patient information collected during mammography examinations. The 75th percentile values were determined as the third quartile of the median MGD values for all hospitals, and DRLs set as 75th percentile of MGD values.

Voice and face processing occur through convergent neural systems that facilitate speaker recognition. Neuroimaging studies suggest that familiar voice processing engages early visual cortex, including the bilateral fusiform gyrus (FG) on the basal temporal lobe. However, what role the FG plays in voice processing and whether it is driven by bottom-up or top-down mechanisms is unresolved.
