Objective: To determine the underlying histopathologic features influencing apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of breast fibroadenomas.

Materials And Methods: Biopsy-proven fibroadenomas (n=26) initially identified as suspicious on breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were retrospectively evaluated. Histopathologic assessments of lesion cellularity and stromal type were compared with ADC measures on diffusion-weighted MRI.

Results: Presence of epithelial hyperplasia (increased cellularity) and dense collagenous stroma were both significantly associated with lower lesion ADC values (P=.02 and .004, respectively).

Conclusion: Variations in epithelial cellularity and stromal type influence breast lesion ADC values and may explain the wide range of ADC measures observed in benign fibroadenomas.

Aims: The development and selection of T cells occur within the thymus. This organ involutes throughout life, compromising the generation of T cells and, consequently, the efficacy of the immune system. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have beneficial effects on the immune system.

Unlabelled: In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), KRAS mutations drive both cancer cell growth and formation of a dense stroma. Small molecule KRAS inhibitors (KRASi) represent a breakthrough for PDAC treatment hence clinical tools that can assess early response, detect resistance and/or predict prolonged survival are desirable for management of patients undergoing KRASi therapy. We hypothesized that diffusion-weighted MRI (DWI) can detect cell death while dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCE) and magnetization transfer ratio (MTR) imaging are sensitive to tumor microenvironment changes, and these metrics shed insights into tumor size (standard care assessment) change induced by KRASi treatment.

Phyllodes tumors (PT) are fibroepithelial neoplasms that are treated by complete surgical excision. The effectiveness of adjuvant therapies, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy, for PT remains unclear, and the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is yet to be established. We report a case of a 15-year-old girl with acute lymphatic leukemia (ALL) who was incidentally diagnosed with a 50-mm borderline PT in the left breast using computed tomography, ultrasonography, and histological examination following needle biopsy.

Context: Myoepithelial carcinoma (MECA) represents < 1% percent of salivary gland (SG) tumors with a mean age of 55 years. These tumors can arise de novo or in association with pre-existing pleomorphic Adenoma (PA). The cytologic features of MECA overlap with other SG neoplasms including the more common benign entities like PA and myoepithelioma and can pose a diagnostic challenge.

A 21 year-old Japanese man had a rapidly growing pedunculated soft tumor in the abdomen within the past year, the base of which had persisted for 17 years. A skin biopsy of the soft part resembled neurofibroma. However, the excised specimen showed that the tumor base comprised spindle cells arranged in a storiform fashion and expanded around fat cells with a honeycomb infiltration.
