Different treatments have been proposed to manage the consequences of ankylosed teeth. This clinical report, which includes several different clinical conditions, describes an orthodontic bone-stretching procedure that can be used to relocate ankylosed teeth. The orthodontic bone-stretching technique involves only partial osteotomies, without the mobilization or repositioning of the alveolar segment, combined with orthodontic forces. The applied force facilitates tooth movement to the occlusal plane and can modify the axis of the ankylosed tooth. This relocation is possible because of a bone-stretching phenomenon in the surgical area. In all of the cases, relocation of the ankylosed teeth was successfully performed and the gingival margins were corrected to improve the esthetic results.

Objective: In the young and growing patient, tooth ankylosis impedes alveolar growth and presents a serious dilemma regarding the best treatment approach. Two common treatment approaches, extraction of the ankylosed tooth or a "wait and see" will result in a compromised alveolar ridge that can affect future prosthetic rehabilitation. The purpose of this article is to discuss five treatment strategies that can be utilized in the management of tooth ankylosis in the growing patient: (1) extraction, (2) decoronation or root submergence, (3) socket shield (partial extraction), (4) segmental osteotomy and (5) replacement with tooth autotransplantation.

Background/aim: Autotransplantation is a well-documented procedure for replacing missing teeth in the anterior maxilla. This retrospective study aims to evaluate long-term survival rate, success rate as well as esthetics and patient-reported outcome of premolars autotransplanted to the anterior maxilla and secondarily to identify potential prognostic factors for survival, success, esthetic, and biological complications.
Material And Methods: One hundred and twenty-two patients with 153 transplants were assessed on survival rate and potential prognostic factors, while 50 patients with 61 autotransplanted premolars underwent clinical, radiographic, and esthetic assessment.

Background: Successful tooth autotransplantation (TAT) requires preservation of the periodontal ligament (PDL) on donor teeth and good vascularization of the recipient site to ensure maintenance of alveolar bone volume through physiological stimulation of PDL. This retrospective study aims to evaluate the survival and success rate of a two-step procedure that uses dual periodontal stimulation and a 3D replica of the transplanted tooth to promote ligament repair and prevent ankylosis and root resorption.
Material And Methods: All consecutive patients followed at the dental center of Rennes and having undergone a TAT in two surgical stages with double periodontal stimulation and the use of a 3D replica of the transplanted tooth between 2017 and 2022 were invited for follow-up clinical and radiographic examination.
