Thorax neoplasms are very rare in newborn. We present a case of cartilaginous hamartoma arising from the ribs. Clinical appearance of this kind of tumour might be even typical as its roentgenogram and surgical intervention can be done immediately. If the histopathological diagnosis is in accordance with the other findings no other therapy is required. To our knowledge no case is reported in which malignancy has been seen or discovered at a later date.

Pulmonary hamartomas are common. However, extrapulmonary hamartomas on the Visceral Pleura are very rare. We treated a patient with a pulmonary nodule at the left lower lobe by uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic wedge resection, which showed a yellow nodule located on the visceral pleura.

Pulmonary mucous gland adenomas (MGAs) originating in mucous-secreting cells in the bronchi are extremely rare benign tumours. Pulmonary chondroid hamartomas (PCHs) are the most common benign neoplasms of mesenchymal origin of the lung.
