Introduction: This study seeks to add to current literature a descriptive account of the lived experience of radiographers' transition to, and experiences of, management roles and identifies additional resources and support that are perceived as being beneficial for this transition.
Methods: This study employed a descriptive phenomenological stance. Using purposive sampling, six South-East Queensland based private practice radiology managers, who had held their position for longer than 3 months, participated in audiotape recorded in-depth interviews exploring their transition to, and experiences of management in radiology. Thematic analysis was used to describe and make meaning of the data.
Results: Overall, five central themes emerged through thematic analysis of the data. The results indicate that all participants' had an underlying drive to succeed during their role transition and highlight the importance of a comprehensive orientation by a mentor; the training and support to enable preparation for the role, especially in the area of people management skills and communication; the importance of access to networking opportunities and the importance of concise expectations from higher management.
Conclusion: Role transition can be marred with uncertainty, however; key suggestions indicate the importance of having support mechanisms in place before, during and after transitioning to a managerial role.

Programmed cell death (apoptosis) is essential part of the process of tissue regeneration that also plays role in the mechanism of pathology. The phenomenon of fast and transient permeability of mitochondrial membranes by various triggers, known as permeability transition pore (mPTP) leads to the release of proapoptotic proteins and acts as an initial step in initiation of apoptosis. However, a role for mPTP was also suggested for physiology and it is unclear if there is a threshold in number of mitochondria with mPTP which induces cell death and how this mechanism is regulated in different tissues.

Unlabelled: Cervical cancer (CC) represents one of the important cancers affecting global female population worldwide. We sought to elucidate the roles and mechanisms of KIAA1429 in the malignant properties of CC cells and the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. KIAA1429 was predicted to be abnormally expressed in CC and correlate with shortened survival of CC patients by GEPIA2 and GSCA databases.

Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) undergo metabolic pathway transitions, including aerobic glycolysis, fatty acid oxidation, and amino acid metabolism, which are important for their function. Metabolic dysfunction in VSMCs can lead to age-related vascular diseases. -GlcNAcylation, a nutrient-dependent posttranslational modification linked specifically to glucose metabolism, plays an important role in this context.

Osteochondritis dissecans is a rare condition characterized by the deterioration of a small area of bone and cartilage without infection. Its exact cause is unclear, though factors such as abnormal bone development, joint pressure, repetitive injuries, inadequate blood supply, and genetic links have been observed. In this case, a 27-year-old woman experienced chronic right knee pain following a twisting injury, which led to reduced mobility and mild pain.
