Objective: To evaluate outcomes of benign concordant magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided breast biopsy.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 611 consecutive MRI-guided breast core biopsies at our institution from 2005 to 2012. Benign concordant cases with MRI follow-up constituted the study group. Lesion appearance on follow-up MRI was assessed and the false-negative rate was calculated.

Results: Eighty-four lesions in 68 women underwent benign concordant MRI-guided biopsy with subsequent MRI follow-up. Mean time to first follow-up MRI was 10.5 months. Two false negatives were identified on follow-up at 8 and 26 months.

Conclusions: We report a false-negative rate of MRI-guided breast biopsy of 2.4%.

Background: The accurate interpretation of the /2 variant is critical for diagnosing and treating hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. ClinVar is a widely used public database for genetic variants. Conflicting classifications of pathogenicity can occur when different submitters categorize the same genetic variant inconsistently as pathogenic (PV), likely pathogenic (LPV), likely benign (LBV), benign (BV), or a variant of uncertain significance (VUS).

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) causes progressive and irreversible damage to the kidneys. Renal biopsies are essential for diagnosing the etiology and prognosis of CKD, while accurate quantification of tubulo-interstitial injuries from whole slide images (WSIs) of renal biopsy specimens is challenging with visual inspection alone.

Methods: We develop a deep learning-based method named DLRS to quantify interstitial fibrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration as tubulo-interstitial injury scores, from WSIs of renal biopsy specimens.

Objective Ultrasound is the predominant modality in medical practice for evaluating thyroid nodules. Currently, diagnosis is typically based on textural information. This study aims to develop an automated texture classification approach to aid physicians in interpreting ultrasound images of thyroid nodules.

Meningiomas are the most common primary central nervous system tumor. Clinical trials have failed to support effective medical treatments, despite initially promising animal studies. A key issue could be that available experimental models fail to mimic the clinical situation.

Accurate variant classification is critical for genetic diagnosis. Variants without clear classification, known as "variants of uncertain significance" (VUS), pose a significant diagnostic challenge. This study examines AlphaMissense performance in variant classification, specifically for VUS.
