This study, conducted as part of a multicenter phase III clinical trial, aimed to assess the utility of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based minimal residual disease (MRD) in comparing the efficacy of short-course and long-course chemoradiotherapy (CRT) for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). A total of 244 plasma samples from 79 LARC patients undergoing neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) before surgery were collected at various time points. Targeted deep sequencing using a novel MRD panel was performed.

Purposes: Intermediate-risk prostate cancer (IR PCa) is the most common risk group for localized prostate cancer. This study aimed to develop a machine learning (ML) model that utilizes biopsy predictors to estimate the probability of IR PCa and assess its performance compared to the traditional clinical model.
Methods: Between January 2017 and December 2022, patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) values of ≤ 20 ng/mL underwent transrectal ultrasonography-guided prostate biopsies.

Although significant advancements have been made in the treatment of rectal cancer, the deterioration of quality of life (QoL) remains a challenging issue. Various tools have been developed to assess QoL, including the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Colorectal (FACT-C) scale, the QLQ-C30 and QLQ-CR29 by the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36).
