Transcatheter embolization is the first-line treatment for massive hemoptysis and recurrent intractable hemoptysis. Proximal interruption of the pulmonary artery is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by hypertrophy and neovasculsarity of bronchial and nonbronchial aortopulmonary collaterals; hemoptysis complicates a minority of cases. We present a case of unilateral proximal interruption of the left pulmonary artery associated with a right-sided aorta, presenting in adulthood with hemoptysis. The patient was managed emergently with bronchial, intercostal, and inferior phrenic artery embolization.

Purpose: The double-flap technique (DFT) is an anti-reflux reconstruction procedure performed after proximal gastrectomy (PG), but its complexity and high incidence of anastomotic stenosis are problematic. We conducted this study to demonstrate the efficacy of robot-assisted DFT, with refinements, to address these issues.
Methods: Surgical outcomes were compared between the following procedures modified over time at our institution: conventional open DFT (group O, n = 16); early robotic DFT (group RE, n = 19), which follows the conventional open PG approach; and late robotic DFT (group RL, n = 21), which incorporates refinements to the early robotic DFT technique by exploiting more of the robotic capabilities available.

Background: Variability in long-term endovascular treatment outcomes for intracranial aneurysms has prompted questions regarding the effects of these treatments on aneurysm hemodynamics. Endovascular techniques disrupt aneurysmal blood flow and shear, but their influence on intra-aneurysmal pressure remains unclear. A better understanding of aneurysm pressure effects may aid in predicting outcomes and guiding treatment decisions.

Background: Surgical smoke generated by energy devices poses health risks to medical staff. During laparoscopic surgery, the smoke aggregating around the camera obstructs the visual field, forcing surgeons to interrupt surgery, and may increase surgical risk. We propose a proximal smoke evacuation method to improve surgical quality by effectively eliminating surgical smoke.
