The rapid development of potency assays is critical in the development of life-saving vaccines. The traditional plaque assay or fifty percent tissue culture infectious dose (TCID) assay used to measure the potency of live virus vaccines is time consuming, labor intensive, low throughput and with high variability. Described here is the development and qualification of a cell-based reporter potency assay for two vaccines for respiratory viral infection, one based on the recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV) backbone, termed Vaccine 1 in this paper, and the other based on the measles virus vector, termed Vaccine 2.

Objective: Currently, a multitude of studies are underway to investigate the factors affecting the degree of frailty, with a significant focus on the critical role of body mass index (BMI). This study aims to conduct a cross-sectional survey to investigate the multifaceted relationship between multiple body habitus and the factors that influence the degree of frailty.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted among 840 adult residents in Chongqing communities.

Complete denture fabrication requires multiple clinical and laboratory steps. One of the most critical clinical steps is establishing an anatomical occlusal plane based on hard and soft tissue references. The aim of this study was to determine whether age or gender affects the level of the Ala-Tragus plane to establish which reference point on the Tragus should be used when fabricating the occlusal plane in edentulous patients.

Background: There is an urgent need for harmonization between severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) serology platforms and assays prior to defining appropriate correlates of protection and as well inform the development of new rapid diagnostic tests that can be used for serosurveillance as new variants of concern (VOC) emerge. We compared multiple SARS-CoV-2 serology reference materials to the WHO International Standard (WHO IS) to determine their utility as secondary standards, using an international network of laboratories with high-throughput quantitative serology assays. This enabled the comparison of quantitative results between multiple serology platforms.
