A correct mode of calculating liposome membrane permeability determined with dialysis is proposed. The liposome membrane permeability is calculated with regard for the ion passage through two diffusion barriers: liposomal membrane and cellophane membrane. The asymmetrical ion distribution under equilibrium conditions is shown. The asymmetry is due to the formation of unstirred layers near the membrane. The equilibrium ion concentration in unstirred layers and the measured average bulk concentration in solution are different. The formula for calculating liposome membrane permeability that takes the mentioned factors into account is suggested.

The environmental pollutant cadmium (Cd) poses a threat to human health through consumption of contaminated foodstuffs culminating in chronic nephrotoxicity. Mitochondrial dysfunction and excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) are key to Cd cellular toxicity. Cd-lipid interactions have been less considered.

Single particle profiling (SPP) is a unique methodology to study nanoscale bioparticles such as liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, extracellular vesicles, and lipoproteins in a single particle and high throughput manner. The initial version requires the single photon counting modules for data acquisition, which limits its adoptability. Here, we present imaging-based SPP (iSPP) that can be performed by imaging a spot over time in the common imaging mode with confocal detectors.

Introduction: Cyclic antimicrobial peptides (CAMPs) are gaining attention as promising candidates in advanced drug delivery systems due to their structural stability, resistance to proteolytic degradation, and versatile therapeutic potential. Their unique properties enable applications that extend beyond combating multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens. Their amphipathic and cell-penetrating properties allow them to efficiently transport drugs across cellular membranes.

Asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AF4) with multi-detection has continued to gain wider acceptance for characterizing complex drug products. An important quality attribute for these products is the measurement of the particle size distribution (PSD). Current limitations of established procedures (e.
