Introduction: Costal margin rupture (CMR) injuries in association with intercostal hernia (IH) are rare and symptomatic and provide a significant surgical challenge. Surgical failure rates up to 60% are reported, and optimal techniques are unclear. We have characterized these injuries and describe the evolution of our surgical management techniques.

Introduction: In Crohn's disease (CD), lesions are mainly distributed in a segmental manner, with the primary sites of involvement being the ileum and colon. Heterogeneity in colon and ileum results in location-specific clinical presentations and therapeutic responses. Mucosal healing tends to be more readily and quickly achieved in the colon than in the ileum, where lesions are more likely to develop into complex behaviors.

Introduction: Consuming hypercaloric diets during pregnancy induces metabolic, immune, and maternal intestinal dysbiosis disorders. These conditions are transferred to the offspring through the placenta and breastfeeding, increasing susceptibility to metabolic diseases.
